What happens when most of your team is Indian?
It is essentially project management
Thanks. Which level is the position usually?
L4 thru L6
Operations Engineering is Project Management with some basic physics/tech understanding required. You mostly manage performance of external vendors. Pay is significantly less than a technical engineering or Technical Program Management role, but better than most non-tech PM roles. Travel requirements are high, vendors are often obstinate, and hours are long. You can transfer to a tech role, but would still need to pass a tech/SDE interview, and you won't have tons of free time to study. Do it if you want to be a Project Manger and get Amazon on the resume.
Thanks
@op @corncube what do they ask in the interview? Will you be able to help me with interview prep? And share your experience?
Can anyone provide insight as to L5 salary base + TC?
I am, stay away from such posts if you like to do technical work. This is just a glorified work for basic technical support because no one wants to do it
Thanks. I’m curious about the travel side and the growth potential
Technically there is no growth, its the other way round. On travel, if you are looking to stay in amazon and just do shitty work, you would get an opportunity to move around the globe. But trust me , many people just leave the job after they join as the work is really shitty.
