TC is MUCH more than 1.5x IBM after new grad. It's like several hundred thousands more for mid level and seniors

These are for new grad positions currently just completed my internships.
Since you’re a new grad go for Amazon. Stay for a year or two and then move on. While long hours suck, there is a lot of learning in the grind and it will prepare you well for the future.
Better to concentrate on dating and socializing than to grind for Bezos

Why would you want to go back to IBM? I also did an internship with them and the biggest thing I learned was to not work there. IBM is a marketing company that pretends to still be a tech company. Chill team won't matter if there's a reorg.
Amazon sucks, yes, but IBM sucks big time! So, make a smart decision. Talk to folks who work at Amazon (in similar kind of team that you're hired for) and then talk to someone at IBM. Compare their learnings during their tenure at each company. It will really help you evaluate the pros and cons. Note that IBM doesn't offer any equity in their compensation package. Yup the TC included the stock amount per year. IBM TC ~ 90k Amazon ~ 135k in Toronto btw. Idk my team at amazon, just got an offer for SDE 1 new grad.
Go for Amazon unless u have very active social life

Amazon has PIP, IBM has RA. Choose wisely.
