My cousin has interviews awaiting to be scheduled for Amazon and Microsoft for entry levels. He just wants to understand which one is better in general aspects. I couldn't answer having not worked for Microsoft. Please don't troll me or him π π My TC: 190k
MS
Having worked for Amazon you can weigh up the pros and cons of working there. Microsoft will probably be similar , up to you to decide.
I definitely want to recommend Amazon for the easy access to resources, and flexibility to change teams and nations. π
Depends on team. Also commute might be a factor.
Amazon is surely better than Microsoft. Microsoft pays shit we all know.
Wut? For new grads? Because I left amazon way above band for a job at MSFT that paid 30% more.
Apart from pay? What about the talent pool and brand value? Not sure if that matters much.
Kudos for posting your TC to ask a question on behalf of your cousin π
π
Microsoft
I would appreciate the reasons as well π
If TC is the same it sounds like wlb favours MS. http://www.perks.guide also doesnβt paint a good view of amazon
Go on Glassdoor. Youβll get multiple reviews and can get a better feel than a few biased Blind posts.
Perks are yayyyyy better that Microsoft
When it comes to big companies, every big company will have pros and cons. For new hires, MSFT will give the breathing room to learn and adjust to new professional life. Generally, company is very employee friendly, culture and benefits reflect that.
Whichever offers ur cousin higher TC.
Let's assume same TC.
Having worked at both, I can agree with everyone and no one. If compensation is similar, it ends up being the org/team your cousin is going to join. Most of the little perks/benefits don't matter that much in the long run. In either company, it comes down to the people you're going to work with. Assuming your cousin has interviewed with at least some of their potential teammates, I would ask this question before choosing (given TC is similar): which group would you rather go out for a beer with?
