I am new grad joined Amazon in July. I got 3% raise on base pay. Should I expect more raise? This is my first job. TC- 140K ( excluding RSU) YOE- 10 months
I dont think your manager is in blind app. 3% is a standard raise
I was offered 140k base in 2020 when I already had 4 years of experience and I took it gladly without negotiating. Wish I had known about the FAANG market back then
Yea Amazon low balled me as well. But I negotiated pretty aggressively and made sure that they are paying more in hand than RSU. When I joined stock market was unnecessarily inflated.
3% is industry standard. Even then that could be hard. I know many that got 0% to 2%. Biggest salary adjustment is when you move companies or get promo. Otherwise it's just the 3% + RSU + bonus. If you're in consulting, you can get higher raises.
L4, joined same time as you and got ~10% base increase.
Congrats! I need to raise my performance
You got a raise. Usually, if you did a good job negotiating, you'll get nothing your first partial cycle. You make ~145. You've spent the last couple months mostly learning how to do things. Focus on doing good work. The money will come with experience.
