Will the promotion budget get impacted by the layoff plan? Is it possible for a team to grow headcount in this kind of environment? Another question , when is the normal time to promote employee in a year?
Was told by L7 that promotion won't be impacted before announcement of the latest round of layoffs. Many people got promoted in Q1 which would be effective from 1st Apr
Promotions are 4 times a year up to L6. For L7+ it's only twice a year. One just happened with the effective date for the promotions being 1st of April. I haven't heard about promotion counts being reduced but my manager has already done some expectation setting with me about how much of a raise I'll get with my promotion due to this year's financial situation 😅
If the manager (L7)promise you to promote you from L6 to L7 in Q3, can I say this is guaranteed?

Amazon promotions happen 4 times a year so quarterly. Theoretically, anything is possible, practically companies probably going to have less promotions in this environment 🤷♂️
