Amazon recruiter directly emails me that they are interested in hiring me for a position. And a follow up email to do an online assessment 4 days back. ''' Good morning, The manager would like to move you to the first part of the interview which is the Online Assessment portion. You should receive an email from Amazon to complete the assessment. Please let me know if you would like me to resend it. Thank you ----------- ''' They never called or confirmed if I'd be interested in the role. I ignored their email, as usual... But then again today. Just a reply on the previous email. No text nothing, just blank reply on previous email probably to surface it top of my inbox. Who do they think they are? I'm surprised Amazon assumes people will line up to take test sent by automatic email on a robotic terminal... #tech #swe
Online assessment is per the job you applied for. Based on the performance, they may choose to invest more time to call
Sounds like typical amazon. I once got an email about a job at Amazon, but the details were incredibly hazy about what they were looking for or what the job would entail. I decided to phone them up for more details and they ended up turning the call into an interview of me. I didn’t even know if I was interested in the position yet! They started grilling me on their principles and didn’t really answer any questions about the job itself. Total waste of time. The only good thing about the call was I answered their questions well since I was already familiar with their principles, but it still caught me by surprise.

Amazon recruiters live in a Metaverse where they think everyone in the world is fighting for an opportunity to work for Amazon. Just ignore such people.
Look they are paid nowhere near to us and they also have PIP quotas, they are affected more than anyone. Its you who needs empathy training. If you want to abuse anyone in Amazon, abuse the leadership not people who are living paycheck to paycheck.
I disagree. I find many Amazonians are Bezos-like persons, arrogant and materialistic. Especially for those who don't escape after 2 years, they stay in Amazon because they somewhat agree with the leadership principles.
@tomstein also needs training on empathy. You expect me to know every shit going on inside Amazon?
it is for a highly specialized L6 role.
Recruiter might be on pip for not meeting targets. So might be their last try 😅
I'm sorry to disappoint them. At least one written sentence would have caused me to give a written reply but they just sent me a blank email.
