Hello all... This is nerve wracking hence the question. I recently went through the loop for amazing l6 tpm. Given all interviewes are virtual each person interviewed me on a different day. Today the recruiter said that two of the interviewers had concerns about my technical depth and 4 other interviewers did not document their feedback yet and that there is a meeting setup for next week to review my performance and he will come back to me once that happens but "given that there are two red flags, this can go either way". I had one technical round where the interview was completely technical involving system design and I think I did well there. That round feedback is not yet documented. I'm worried totally now. Should I be concerned? Please, those who want to comment that I should stay away from @Amazon don't. I've already made up my mind and do not intend to change that. Thank you for any constructive feedback on this. #amazon #tech
It’s weird af to me that the recruiter told you two of your votes before the debrief. But honestly there’s really no way to tell until everyone has their feedback in and the debrief happens. I’ve gone into debrief assuming I was getting a hire for the outcome to be not inclined, and I’ve also thought it was going to be a no and then I come out with a hire. I know the wait sucks but there is not crystal ball answer out there for you
Thank you both. You're amazing people. Thank you a ton for helping me out. My wife and I are losing sleep over this. I really really need to get this otherwise all shit is going to hit the fan next month
Are you laid off?
Furlough that never seems to end. First it was two weeks now its 2 days every week. God knows what else would happen.
I'm also trying to decide if blind is correct about the amazon hate. What helped you make up your mind? Mostly just the current job?
Two reasons actually, my wife is an ex Amazon employee who had to leave due to personal reasons. She always has rave reviews and the second reason is almost everyone I met from Amazon is so technically sound and more importantly such an amazing person that I decided to take my chances there. It is obvious that there will be some bad apples in the bunch. But still nothing that cannot be navigated through
Interesting to hear the high rate of positivity you've experienced from prior employees. Definitely agree with the technical abilities. Even if the wlb is bad, could be worth it for the learning experience
Thank you all for your responses. I just got informed that the debrief did not take place yet but three of the interviewers have raised red flags on my technical depth therefore it looks like there is going to be a rejection on Monday. Thank you all for your help. Although it's very unexpected I guess this war ends here while the battle continues
The best piece of advice is to wait on feedback from the loop. 2 against is not fatal if you have strong advocacy from those who are inclined as people can change their votes if they were not strongly against the candidate. You could make it as an L6 or even get an L5 offer. Wait and see what happens so just relax :)
