Amazon sign on bonus (L5)?

Levels FYI doesn't seem to indicate well the sign-on bonus (it shows bonus but the numbers are small, like 10k-15k, sometimes $0. Also, other than sign-on, I understood that there aren't any bonuses in Amazon). Can anyone tell me if $60k is a good number for L5 as a sign-kn bonus? (1st year, 48k for the second.) Location: Seattle #amazon #signon #compensation

It would depend on the location. Sign-on is a part that makes up the TC. You should instead focus on the TC. The structure of your TC is always the same.

Edited, Seattle. I want to negotiate and know if these numbers for sign on are negotiable (meaning average, below or above)

You should negotiate your TC, not just the sign on. The target TC for all 4 years would be approximately same. Hence, they don’t just increase the sign-on. They also increase the stocks.

For sure. I just know that the base salary is not as negotiable as the RSUs... I know I can probably negotiate the stocks more. However, if I knew the room of maneuver they have over the sign-on bonus, I could try to negotiate actual cash value.

I heard from one of my colleagues recently that for L5 role, he got $140K base + 70K bonus divided over first 2 years with company.

That sounds like an L4 offer. Super low end of the band L5 offer.

What does a high end L5 offer look like? When does it start to look like an L6 offer without the L6 loop?
