If you leave amazon before year 3 do you have to pay back the fat sign on bonus? TC: 230
Depends on how the sign on bonus is paid to you. If it’s paid out ratably, then you won’t own anything back. And I’m only aware of Amazon paying out the 1st and 2nd year sign on bonus in a ratable fashion.
Nope. Bonus is given in equal parts every month. What you have received already, is yours. Also, the bonus is not really a bonus. It is to compensate for lower rsu# vesting schedule for first and second year.
Yup this is accurate.
What does rsu mean?
Only first year bonus is lump sum so just gotta stay a year to not have to pay back
It should be in the letter where it mentions the sign on bonus. Afaik, you have to return it if you leave within 1 year.
Bonus is given end of every month. So it means you are getting after you worked those 30 days of that month. Also, it's called joining bonus. Else, if the company wanted to use it to trap an employee to stay longer, they would have given that big bonus together on day1
yes plus interest
Yes, 15%
Really? I don’t remember seeing that.
