What's the mood at Amazon watching stocks surge by 20%, and then back down 20% less than 3 hours later? TC: 316k (or anywhere between 265k and 380k, plus 1 (ONE) banana if I was at Amazon)
Every time during a positive quarterly result it happens. Iβm glad itβs not -20% right off the bat (we never know , letβs see what happens today)
Hey man, earnings calls are always russian routlette.
I was happy for a sec. I should have sold it all when it was above 4k per stock
I mean yeah
it was never above 4k, highest was around 3700
Are you bad at Math?
Nah. I was gonna say "15% up and 20% down", but I didn't really care enough to be that much of a geek about a meme post.
Looks more like up 15% and then down 15%
23% growth in ads revenue. I think it was a solid quarter, but overall market sentiment towards tech is bearish, so any negative statements like the ones made by the CFO about April revenue trends are immediately turning to bearish market movement.
And they still had to cut folks in Ads.
Pip cfo?
Not a chance. He's "inside". His title starts with a C, so unless he does something egregiously bad, it simply won't happen.

This company is done. Microsoft is the future.
stock went bananas
Didnβt he say AWS revenue is shrinking and not growing. Two shrinking businesses, including Amazon online commerce scare the market.

CFO fucked up. Who on earth would talk of Q2 earnings on Q1 earnings call
Damn. Maybe they knew how bad it was going to look, so they made a desperate "things will get better" attempt? I didnt listen in to the call.
Someone who expects horrible Q2 results and wants to moderate expectations in advance.
