Currently at amazon, L6 PM at ~270k TC (at least for the next 2 years due to stock increases). Received a FB offer for 213k/yr TC, for I believe an E4 PM role. (155 base / 170 stock / 10% bonus) It’s a pretty significant pay hit, at least for the next two years bc of my unvested amazon shares. Is it worth even considering the FB role? Upside would be better perks and shorter commute. Should I only consider if I’m able to negotiate, which I know might be tough? YOE: 6 in tech, post-MBA
They are aggressively recruiting aren’t they? Is this for Oculus? Not sure I would take that hit unless your work at FB is more valuable than your Amazon work for your career path.
Downlevel and pay cut, what’s wrong with you?
Less money and more work doesn't sound right. Downlevel too.
Really that sucks ! Thought FB was a high paying company
M7?
guess not then
Don't make move at this level and TC. You should demand at least 50% increase.
Amazon is doing well. I would stick with it. FB not compelling enough.
How lower are pm compensation than sde in Fb for same level?
Ok I would strongly stop you from doing that, you'll have a really bad time at Facebook, their product is so fucked up even the senior PMs and the CPO have resigned. It's not the best time to join Facebook I would say
You should be able to ask more from Facebook. Tell them what your expectations are.
