Pretty common nowadays. You should be surprised if you did not get rfe. What attorney does Google use
Everyoneās RFE is different... But in my case when I got it many years ago it was because I was in consulting. For every city we work in, we must submit at LCA prior to working at the location. When I first joined the company, I was not assigned a project yet, so the company applied with my Home officeās LCA, but I was quickly assigned to a project before my h1b was approved. Without submitting a new LCA for my new project location, my company sent me. Finally when it came time to evaluate my application, they noticed a mismatch of work location. My company attempted to respond to the RFE by submitting a new LCA, but it was a no for my h1b application in the end. Process took about two weeks to hear the rejection. Back in 2012.
@PdEW66 your's was new h1b or transfer? Will it also affect transfer?
Sorry to hear. What is your role and what is the RFE for?
This is common these days. It took a complete 75 days for me to get my RFE approved. The lawyers spent too much time prepping the response. USCIS took 7 calendar days after response was sent to them. The USCIS had questioned how was I a highly skilled candidate. I have an MS in OR and a total of over 9 years of work experience.
@BlueApron - Was the RFE for "specialty occupation"? I am waiting for my RFE response and very worried. I don't even have a MS š
Yes
I am Chinese. SDE2 to T4 5yoe
I am joining a small product based company and got RFE asking for Itinerary of my travel to client places. Attorney said USCIS confused company as consulting company and asking for unnecessary documentation. It is still in progress..
Should be ok, sometimes if company didn't provide latest document i.e. Latest paycheck then also rfe...it will get resolved
Thank you all! Really appreciate it. My main question is that how long it takes? I feel kind of frustrated in current situation
My application was received on May 4th as well and I am still waiting. Your case makes me nervous. I have 4 years Bachelors degree with 17 years experience, not sure if the delay in my approval is because of impending RFE. In the past, I have always got approved within 4 days :(
RFE is pretty common. Did Google premium process your application? If not, you can ask them to do it since your transfer process had been delayed. Find out why you got RFE and make sure you push Google to submit all documents (and more) Sometimes there are very junior attorneys that make some petty mistakes or miss a document. Amazon lawyers are very good about these things. See if you have a list of documents that Amazon lawyers ask for and send that as a checklist to Google lawyers to be on the safe side.
Yes premium processing. Wait for USCIS to MAIL the reasons back to my lawyer. Who is still using mail nowadays...
