Amazon to Microsoft
Decided to leave Amazon this week. There are so many people going from Microsoft to Amazon - what about Amazon to Microsoft? Any insights, advice, warnings to be aware of?
Depends greatly on the team you join at Microsoft. There's huge disparity there

I have lot of friends who moved from AMZ to MSFT and they are so much happier, relaxed and contented now. They were frustrated while they were at AMZ and hardly had any time to socialize.
I went from Amazon to Microsoft. Much happier.
Team is the key here...join a fast growing team if possible or move to one after a year
Agree Team is the key here! Otherwise you can find people moved from MS to AMZ and feeling happier ! Choose right team !
Amazon has rep of treating folks bad but paying. You will find Microsoft a much better situation and nice people with little difference in pay.
This is consistent with what has been shared with me directly by close friends who have left MSFT for AMZ.
And chose the team depending what you want, not what others tell you you you should want
OP what did you do at Amazon? If dev, you should fit right in. If at AWS as a Solutions Architect, you will think we are crazier than Amazon

You will enjoy it. Microsoft treats employees much better.
