Amazon user research interview, what to expect?

Any advice please? What’s the process like? What should I focus on?

Amazon 🪫COVID+ve Jun 18, 2023

Behavioral. Tell me about a time when you had systemic issues to conduct research. What were the issues, how did you go about it, and what was the outcome? Expect a lot of follow ups akin to peeling the onion of your story.

Ah thanks, no case study or portfolio?

Amazon whisperr Jun 19, 2023

Yes. Portfolio review will be the first interview (60mins). Case study/ how would you go about x,y,z may be asked during the interview.

Did you get the online assessment? I got it twice and didn't go through both times. I am just curious how does one pass the online assessment stage? Any idea?

Amazon leadership principles— don’t out right say them but they will be looking for them it, it’s a central part to how we work and our culture (currently a ux designer at amazon)

Yeah prepare your top 5 or so best answers to the classic things like ‘tell me about a time when you had friction in the product team, or the deadline was moved’ etc but structure it in a way that clearly checks off aspects of the LPs, demonstrating that you understand them and have a track record of behaving accordingly. Prep work really helps, plus these notes will be gold for anywhere else you interview too
