TC: 30B + 3 YOE: 4.3 Oracle OCI offer: 40B + 6JB (1st yr) + 6 JB(2nd yr) + 19.5L RSU/year (Security Team -Vulerability Scanning Service) Amazon SE2: 38B + 22JB(1st year) + 14JB (2nd year) + 17 units (Alexa International Team) Amazon's offer is like 8% lower than OCI. I have been with Indian startups prior to my current experience and does having Amazon on my resume make a diff w.r.t getting calls from other good companies and foreign opportunities? Also, Will OCI hinder my chances of the same? I was against Amazon earlier because of WLB and PIP, but after talking to a friend-of-friend in the same team and he said WLB is good and because the scale is less for Alexa, the on-call is also decent. To answer my own question: I did attend Google, Uber interviews and was rejected. Thanks all. #amazon #oci #oracle
People consider interviewing with OCI for TC only (if they pay 30+% of your TC). Not sure what's the motivation to take up OCI here.
My motivation being higher TC and eventually same culture/hikes as AMZ? I am still trying to more find people who give me WLB reviews about team
I heard that wlb is bad, India teams work mostly on stuff like config changes and ops automations. High ops load, and most of it is pushed on to India teams, while US folks work on the interesting stuff. Culture is good. Forget hikes, I hear its 0% since few years, even promos are just title changes. I had an offer, so I looked into all of the details.
1B? B is for base
Yeah sorry XD, read hastily and thought it to be some currency
Hey OP, is this for OCI in Bangalore? Did you negotiate to reach this offer? I have same exp as you. My call is directly with hiring manager and he has offer me 38B + 10L rsu and says it is best offer in the org. He also says org never gives JB and negotiating means delay of another 2-3 weeks. Not sure what I should do.
Hey, I negotiated for JB from 4 to 6 and RSU from 15 to 20, Although I had offers from Tekion/Zeta with 45B + 5JB and 8/year ESOPS.
Was this negotiation with some HR or the hiring manager? Did he/she at any point say something like “this is top of band” or “max we offer”?
I don’t think oracle brand name is bad in India. I believe working for a MNC with good work is good enough
Op have you joined oci?

How common is it actually to earn more than 300K TC?
Brand matters, at least in India. I have friends who joined OCI and regretting it now when trying to leave. Recruiters from other companies don't know about OCI, all they see is 'Oracle', or they pretend to not know, to play the brand game and lowball. This is what I heard from my friends. Btw, Amazon TC for year 1 is 60L, but looks like it's going down for year 3 and 4. I thought they offered enough to keep the TC constant atleast. Stock can go upto 20 units imo.
Same, There are very stubborn w.r.t in increasing, got “best comp that we can offer” from HR after negotiations and I don’t want to play the bluff game or should I ?
I'm not sure, I joined out of college and didn't negotiate. If you have offers from other companies Amazon doesn't want to lose talent to, you can try negotiating. Google, uber and the likes should get the TC up, OCI is Oracle from recruiters point of view, I guess thats the reason they aren't willing to negotiate. Btw, I just mentioned that it looked odd, but in general your offer is solid.
