For UK graduate position Amazon program manager (non tech) Vs Capital one Strategy Analyst? In terms of salary, culture, career progression/exit opps, etc.. Seems like pay is similar / C1 might pay slightly better than amazon in the uk and the work seems more interesting... but i might be wrong lol Would be great help if you share any info/insights in the comments as well🙏
i am not a pm. I think Amazon might be a good opportunity but is a risk. You might end up in a team where you learn 0. Internal change is very feasible so if this happens you can change after 6 months. I know a Pm that landed a job at MBB. Pay in UK is below competitors and yearly salary review are ridiculous. If you accept, it might not be for the long term. I do not know about c1. I personally would go for brand name stay six month and find something else. It depends on what you want to do.
I'm more interested in strategy and was worried as amazon pm work seemed more like logistics management? May I ask for how long the pm worked for amazon before he/she exited to a mbb job?
If I remember correctly 1.5 years. I hope a real pm can step in the conversation and reply to you. Program managers at Amazon are the ones that manage projects and teams might be logistics/ops/product/analytics. They have teams, understand stakeholders requirements and remove the blockers. Another advice is to have a look on LinkedIn from people that are now working in strategy at mbb and worked before at c1 / Amazon and chat with them.
C1 is a better employer with great work opportunities As u said salary is most likely same - C1 IMO
The strategy folks at C1 learn a ton.
I think Strategy Analytics in the UK is the same as BA in US?
Ah, I missed the UK location. I’ll edit.
Corporate strategy or business strategy analyst?
It's just called strategy analyst in the uk-
Pretty sure that’s equivalent to BAs in the US. In general I would expect the culture, WLB to be way better at Capital One. You will probably learn more too although that’s dependent on the roles at each company. Exit opportunities will be good for both companies, both are good enough on your resume to get you into almost any interview. In the US Amazon pays better which is the main reason people go there. If the pay is the same I would recommend C1
TC of both offers?
