Posting for a friend who doesn’t have a Blind account: Got offers for the 3 companies new grad SWE. Amazon: TC 155K, in Seattle MasterCard: TC 150K, in DC Hulu: TC 140K, in LA Currently interested in full-stack web development and more front-end work (Hulu team is exactly that). SO will be at Capital One in McLean after graduating. But also wondering if the brand name and pay of Amazon trumps all of the aforementioned things. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
Damn amazon is paying 170k now for new grad?
Nope, it's 153k (Y1). All the Seattle new grad offers are around 153k. 170k is closer to Bay Area offer. Not sure how OP calculated the TC.
Sorry, I wasn’t careful with reading and realized a good portion of the sign-on bonus is given after the 2nd year. It is around 155K for first year comp
Got the Hulu offer via GHC! And offer breaks down as follows: 100k base + 30k sign on + 45k stock (vests over 4 years)
make a poll
How did you get your offer at Hulu? When did the offer came out?
What was your Hulu offer? The 100k + 45k RSUs + 30k sign on?
If this is the Hulu offer it looks like you got the Disney-fied version of Hulu new grad offer.
To which, I am so sorry.
Damn the current Hulu new grad offer is lower then the new grad offer I got after my internship in 2014.
What was your offer
Base 115k, signing 25k, LTIP I forget, but probably came out to like 30k over 3 years, bonus target 15% of base
I'm assuming that your Mastercard offer is with Data & Services (if it's not, it's probably not worth considering) Without location considerations, I'd definitely go Hulu. If you want to end up in the DMV area, I've personally heard enough about Amazon culture to not be excited about it. So, I guess mastercard is worth considering if location is a big deal
Anywhere else but Hulu.
Avoid Amazon at all costs. The extra pennies is nothing compared to the immense stress, lack of support, and callousness of management.
Can you goto Amazon and then move to their Virginia HQ after an year or so? If you can you should totally do that
AWS already has offices in NoVA, too, so could always see if there’s a position already.
