Amazon vs Microsoft SWE New Grad
Hello all, I have received two competing offers for new grad SWE roles at Microsoft and Amazon. Some details on me: ~ 2 years of coop experience in SWE Offer details: Microsoft: Base: 110k Signon: 50k Stock: 120k Amazon: Base: 116k Signon: 50k Stock: 86k I have the Microsoft offer for Bing Ads team. I value greatly good learning opportunities and growth early on, rather than just TC (though obvious prefer higher). I do enjoy having ownership over my projects and being thrown into difficult projects, but respect WLB. Also, due to new grad, I do not know any team placement for Amazon in advance. What would be the better choice for company? I am heavily weighing on Microsoft due to the probability of being on a good team (I think) and better TC. Any suggestions? Lastly, would there be some negotiation possible on the MSFT offer? Thanks!

Run as far away from amazon as you can
Microsoft is the best choice imo even if the tc was less which is not the case here.
Only upside of Amazon is you won't become potassium deficient.
With those numbers, I'd go MSFT. More TC and better WLB.
