Hi all, I have received offers from the above three companies for new grad (I am a master's student) Here are the details: 1. Amazon Base: 112k, stocks: 80k, joining: 50k over 2 years Team is unknown, will find out only 60 days prior to joining. Got offer from Amazon.com. Location: Seattle 2. Microsoft Base: 104k, stocks: 130k, joining: 25k Team: Azure-Compute Location: Atlanta *The office is new, they are moving people from Seattle, it's just two floors of a we work building and the teams will just be azure teams* 3. Oracle Received verbal offer with base around 150k Team: oracle financials ERP The team that I interviewed for was more of a research based team where they devise new solutions using NLP, ML and also develop a lot of backend services. Location: Redwood Shores, CA Since this is my first job, what space would be better to get into? All three companies have very different locations as well so I'm confused. Any help would be appreciated! I am looking to learn a lot and make sure I can accelerate my career. There might still be room for negotiation with Microsoft and oracle.
Go with Microsoft-Compute. Learning from this team will go long way in your career.
Microsoft hands down as Alanta cost of living is lower. You may be able to net a couple of homes before relocating to a higher cost of living city for a significant tc increase. Good plan for appreciating and up and coming markets.
Thanks for all the inputs! An edit to the post is Microsoft Atlanta office is just two floors of a we work building, and they haven't set up yet, they're planning move people from Seattle, do you think this might hinder learning ability? As far as I know it will just be a few Microsoft azure teams in this wework office. Will edit the post as well!
Op, Are you coming in as L60 or L61 at Microsoft?
L60, what does this mean?
Just curious, didn't know Msft pays that well for entry level in Atlanta
Amazon in Seattle is a new-grad meat grinder. The vesting schedule is 5/15/40/40 (yep, over FOUR years). If you don’t make it past the first year, you’re outta luck. I would never hire into Amazon blind.
But you get a hefty sign on bonus for the first two years which more than makes up for the vesting schedule
Read the fine print. He’s getting his in installments. :)
