Amazon vs. eBay?
Is this a valid comparison? Personally most of my friends use Amazon but not so much eBay. Is eBay a competitor of Amazon?
They are competitive platforms for many small time resellers. I've sold stuff on Amazon but not on eBay.

For starters, people don't jump off buildings.
In AMZN you have extremely caustic people all around. In eBay they are quite fewer in numbers. You Lynch your team mates for your survival in AMZN.
Coffee is also not free in AMZN. ( Don't tell me that the pee that's available in the pantry is coffee) . The AMZN cafe / Soda vending machine charge higher than outside. You have old hardware for developers. No free breakfast. On-Call.
If u guys were given the choice today of eBay, amazon, Cisco, Paypal, all more or less equal offers, what would you consider?
I would choose eBay or PayPal over Cisco and Amazon. As it was mentioned in comments above, eBay is absolutely better as a place to work. I spent 1.5 years at Amazon and now work at eBay for about the same time. Difference is HUGE and I still love eBay much more. PayPal most likely has similar benefits and working culture.
