Amazon workers stage strike on Black Friday

Workers at Amazon distribution centers in Germany have gone on strike for better pay on Black Friday, one of the busiest days of the year for the online retailer. Union ver.di said Friday that the walkouts began overnight at six distribution centers across the country, with some due to last until Tuesday. https://apnews.com/a4143826834346c196514bb3b025dc80

Pretty sure they strike in Germany every year?

Microsoft Gennady OP Nov 29, 2019

Who about you guys when you will strike!

Amazon BlindIy Nov 29, 2019

We just get bought out with our pivots before we can strike

It is free market, no one is forcing them to work for Amazon

Amazon BlindIy Nov 29, 2019

The labor market is a bit different in Germany... both employer and employee have to give at minimum a 4 week notice before being able to fire/quit.

Amazon BlindIy Nov 29, 2019

And that is only by law, apparently a lot of employment contracts have a 3 month notice there.

Good, I'm thinking of them today and wish them well

Wayfair workers could learn a thing or two from these Amazon workers.

This is how you get the attention of executives who care only about money.

This is becoming a problem for Amazon. Have yall seen the employee propaganda ads they are running constantly? Cringeworthy.

Credit Karma EllisDee25 Nov 29, 2019

Lol, yeah I just saw one. Ohhh... Amazon has ads about how much their warehouse employees love it there - in the week before they are going to be swamped and miserable for a month. Aww, nothing calculated and cynical about that.
