Amazon.jobs killing me

Hi Blinders- I applied for many Technical Program Manager roles at Amazon.jobs. I contacted the recruiter for a couple of them ( email contact on the job posting) and was told that they are still having internal discussions before they can start interviewing people. some of the applications have been in “application submitted” status since forever. Some of them are automatically “withdrawn” while some say “no longer in consideration” - pretty clear. Also, there are positions that I haven’t applied for that show a withdrawn status. Not getting calls despite feeling I check all the boxes under requirements. Whats going on here?

There could be many reasons. 1. The position actually got filled internally or through interviewed candidate. 2. US companies have a bad policy of not doing advert for green card right away. Generally US companies start GC process 6 month after hiring the resource or in many case when 6 year tenure is about to finish. Whenever this happens companies post bogus job description on their site. This false advertising is a mandatory requirement by USCIS. 3. You were not considered for that position. This is the most regular case for managerial positions. Do not know what kind of connection or credential in terms of experience is needed. I had submitted resume of my friend for top manager position in my previous company. His resume aligned to the requirement as well. I knew the position was not bogus as well because a new team was being formed and it was open information. The decision making was with hire ups. As per what I know it never got filled. A senior manager was given the responsibility as an added role. 4. The position was scrapped and the recruiter never closed it on the job site. This happened to me personally. I was applying internally. I reached out the recruiter. Who suggested that I talk to the hiring manager. The hiring manager told me his team had got a hiring freeze due budget not being approved.

Recruiters and hiring managers also do things like take vacations, get sick or become bogged down with other work expectations. I do my best not to be a bottleneck in recruiting processes but sometimes I get caught with a big deliverables that consume my time for days on end. We are human too.
