5-year, >$1 billion dollar deal for over a million O365 licenses. This comes after years of Amazon refusing to use many Microsoft products, and instead trying to roll their own versions internally. https://www.livemint.com/companies/news/microsoft-to-welcome-amazon-as-client-in-landmark-1-billion-deal-report/amp-11697596743702.html #Amazon #AWS #Microsoft

Amazon tried to roll their own version internally? What is that? I think they used quip and other office stuff from other companies but not Amazon built.
WorkDocs, Chime, etc. All very bad compared to their O365 counterparts. And Quip (a Salesforce company) is is maddeningly terrible. I probably hate Quip more than any other piece of Amazon software I’ve had to use.
Lol yeah workdocs. I treated it non existent. It was so bad. Chime wasn’t too bad though.
I don’t know much but Amazon may have done a deal where backend storage will be AWS. I don’t see any reason that Amazon will do deal where backend infrastructure will be Azure.
Amazon is so stagnant
Bad look for Google.
lol, but not google doc eco system?
Oh shit. I'll need to work on scaling up
I mean, it’s only 1mil licenses, not world-breaking. I’d be curious to see the expected breakdown of license levels. I’m sure a huge percentage will be E1’s for non-corporate employees, and then E3 for a large percent for the rank-and-file (non admins), and then E5 for the remaining power users and admins.
No more slack?
Chime is really bad compared to teams.
What happens to fRuGAliTY
We spent more money there than we're allowed to here.
