End of an era with Steve P leaving. This will be a massive blow to legacy LTC folks. The shitty ADI PowerPoint culture is gonna permeate into LTC too. Along with upcoming Maxim merger, I see layoffs in next few months. I like Greg Henderson but Martin Cotter doesn't seem to be well versed technically. Steve had almost every power product and feature memorized and took keen interest in keeping everyone happy. He looked sad and dejected today. I expect many folks leaving soon. Apple, this is your chance to build the best power team in the industry. #reorg #analogdevices #maximintegrated
Yes
Steve's departure was inevitable. His charter was to grow the business to an unprecedented value by a strict deadline or else he would 'not be around for the next one.' That's a carrot on the end of a stick. It was a culture clash. the LTC figurehead had to go. It's no secret that LTC culture has been steadily eroding; at this point the company I work for is completely unrecognizable to me. You are right about the layoffs. Hopefully they will be dead wood, golden handshakes and overlapping non-tech/administrative departments. When we were being acquired it appeared critical to legacy ADI not to scare off their acquired talent; we were treated pretty fairly. It will be interesting to see how a major acquisition looks from the ADI side of things, this time around.
The power team is definitely going to see various shifts till stability.
