Angels in Hell: Misogyny inside Victoria’s Secret

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/01/business/victorias-secret-razek-harassment.html Not that we should be surprised — two rich dudes feeling and creeping on fashion models, rampant sexual harassment. Oh, and of course mandatory friendship with Epstein. They’ll probably get off scotch-free, maybe get a $100M golden parachute or something, and retire on their islands. 🤷‍♂️

My experience with sexism at Victoria Secret was applying for a sales job and being told men weren’t eligible. If it weren’t for misogyny, modeling wouldn’t exist as a career.

Thats gonna be a no for me dawg Misogyny means ingrained prejudice against women, including dislike and contempt for things women do.

I agree that modeling (or “influencing” now I guess) is inherently misogynistic as it sets false female body expectations for men and women. Like, 9-year old girls are growing up and wondering if they’ll have a big enough ass or something. Or obsessing over fashion accessories and makeup. Who benefits? Multi-billion dollar industries, of course.

Really puts their corporate statements into context! “It’s like, why doesn’t your show do this? Shouldn’t you have transsexuals in the show? No. No, I don’t think we should. Well, why not? Because the show is a fantasy.” So its hilarious that trans women wanted representation in this organization

You would think that if trans models are in such high demand, someone would start a company with a focus on trans models rather than attempt to force a so-called bigoted company to put trans models on display. Wouldn’t that be easier than fighting with a company that clearly doesn’t want them?
