Hi Blind, hope you are well. I am just curious what the average annual return % is for Betterment / Weathfront? I am thinking about trying one but not sure if it's better just to pick several Vanguard ETF's with good past performance on my own. TC: $330k #personalfinance #investments
Just buy s&p 500. Much better returns.
Wealthfront I’m up like 7% over 18 months in their roboaccount on the near highest risk setting. Honestly should be higher given how booming the market is
Buy VTSAX or similar MF or ETF. Do DCA and AA.
Betterment sucks. It has not been able to give me high returns when market was flying thus has still only 3% Return over 3 years.
Use vanguard with 3-4 etfs and rebalance every 6 months. Better returns than betterment and wealth front.
Thanks very much for the replies. You confirmed my suspicions about Betterment/Wealthfront and I'll just stick with a few Vanguard ETFs for now.
I have wealthfront account with 1k to check the returns. The return in 2 years are just 5% at the highest risk setting.I have had better returns investing myself.
Super helpful and thanks for your response. I am going to stick with Vanguard funds for now and just use Etrade's ETF comparison tool (helpful for looking at annual returns and fees amongst 5 ETFs at a time). Maybe when Betterment/Wealthfront improve in a couple years I will give them a try.
Another thing I noticed was that when wealthfront goes down with the market. But when market recovers to it's ATH, wealthfront does not recover to it's ATH.
I find betterment to work well
