Hi guys We all know that HFT and bigtech are known to compete vigorously for talent. Which one of them is better for long-term? Especially in SRE/DevOps/Infrastructure domains. If the TC difference is more than $150k, would it be ok to jump to HFT for about 2-3 years and than come back. What about non-fang and lower tier tech like vmware, tesla, cisco etc? #faang #facebook #google #tesla #vmware #cisco #airbnb #aws #cruise #airtable
hft doesn't get the rsu growth
True.
Not doubting the outcome but you missed out unvested compounding. FAANG stock is vested over 4 years. The year 2 new hft bonus will be compared to the 2 year vest - 69% appreciation with compounding in this example

TC is king
But how that TC is paid also matters. HFT -> discretionary bonus Fang: guranteed bonus Some teams in Apple, amazon etc promise bonus but don’t pay it. HFT can do the same thing. I don’t understand why HFT get so much hype over something which is discretionary and not guranteed.
FAANG gets more hype than HFT on Blind. Maybe you have a selective bias when choosing which posts to read on blind.
