Are Israel's actions in Palestine causing the word Antisemitism to become hollow and start losing its value and impact? #misc #politics #uspolitics
following the footsteps of nazi, hitler, meaningless now without further context and used to mislead too often
I am sure antisemites think it's hollow until they get fired for it 😁
Nope, it's just becoming more common, but you are just as disgusting for your hate today as you were before your terrorist heroes murdered and raped people on October 7th
And what are your "heroes" doing/have been doing to the Palestinians?
No one is targeting Palestinian civilians. Hamas is using them as human shields and that is causing excess deaths in otherwise legitimate battles. Interesting that you do not blame Hamas for that ..
It’s not the word that’s changing. It’s the credibility of many of the people using it. Antisemitism is very real, gross and dangerous. The same is true of any anti-religion belief, including anti-Muslim. Some of the protesters are antisemitic. That’s a fact. The part where people start losing credibility is applying a broad generalization of those antisemitic protesters to *all* the protesters who simply don’t believe committing atrocities on the scale that Israel has is justifiable. Anyone who claims a protest against Israel is antisemitic immediately loses my respect — both from a moral and intellectual standpoint. Because either they’re too stupid to understand that the generalization is ridiculous, or they know and just want to shut down the conversation because they’re uncomfortable verbalizing that they believe injuring, maiming and murdering 100k civs is for *their* greater good (not *the* greater good). There is a spectrum to the protests and a vast majority of people sit right in the middle — “stop killing and oppressing innocent people”. It’s that simple. To demand Israel to stop doing that is not antisemitism.
No, actually, antisemitism is dramatically rising. Words like "Zionist" are being used in contexts where they can only mean something like "Israeli" or "Jew" and apparently in ways that the posters think it's ok to hate those entire groups. I have seen non stop posts here with common antisemitic tropes, claiming a big Jewish conspiracy, or dismissing Jewish security needs as "playing the victim", and in many cases outright denigrating Jews Even in your post you apparently think being against an entire nation of people (anti Israeli) is somehow not just vicious bigotry. I think your post of an example of how antisemitism is being normalized
So if Saudi Arabia dropped a nuke on Yemen and I protest against Saudi Arabia dropping more, that makes me anti-muslim? I think your reply of an example of how people are losing credibility claiming antisemitism. And again, Israel != Judaism. I can be against their government policy without having anything against Judaism. You yourself are making the problem of antisemitism worse by tightly coupling the two. For every person unhappy with Israel that you convince of the coupling, you effectively create an antisemite (because you got it in their heads that Israel represents Judaism)
Social media is helping the world wake up and realize their lies. This was not possible before when they kept crying about their victim status and everyone was like "oh, you poor people" and now we realize they are just the new Nazis.
I think there are less repercussions as both Hollywood and finance have parallel services with different stakeholders. So like on some streaming service you can still have that career, if you wanna trade you still have that career.
Social Media, especially when it's anonymous, allows disgusting people to spew racist crap with little consequence Israelis ARE the victims of Palestinian terrorists and trying to deny or minimize it makes you a piece of shit
Jewish people are causing the word to be hollow. Israel’s actions aren’t. You got it twisted. That group had a soft power, they diluted it themselves by using it arbitrarily. By having an ingrained culture of deflection and assuming “non-chosen” people are stupid. That soft power is gone. Easiest Israeli conflict to keep a job in. Only people that lost a job were the ones that tore down those missing person posters a week too early.
Do you have inside knowledge being at Disney and all
“assuming “non-chosen” people are stupid.” This is not a thing
