Any Front end engineer here add some input on tech stack used to build this square website. Square engrs did good job

I was sent this customer survey email and clicked this link. https://squareup.com/help/us/en?completed_csat_survey=true I'm backend engg, tried FE few years back and couldn't do better at it. So dropped pursuing FE years back. But this website is super sleek and Fast. May be because not much of backend processing. But curious to know what FE stack they used? Seeing a super fast front end page after long time. #tech

FE performance less has to do with the stack and more to do with how much JS and other resources you are sending to the user as well as how fast your BE is and how much content is blocked by your BE. Square is mostly Vue, Ember, or React though. Mostly Ember still.

I don't really see what part of it you felt is sleek. Initial page load is fast - Yes but post that they seem to have lot of page redirections Based on what I see it's vanilla JS + jQuery

Generally good frontend performance at Square is a happy accident. Itโ€™s not really regularly measured or prioritized.
