Any H1b immigrants getting hired at SpaceX?
Saw the inspiration4 ad at the Super Bowl ad. I’m inspired by the mission. If you’re working at SpaceX, can you confirm? #engineering #software
Even if you could, not sure you’d want to risk your H1-B working 70 hours a week at SpaceX (same goes for Tesla from what I’ve heard)
Due to ITAR regulations only citizens and GC holders can be hired at Space X. For most jobs there one would need to be a citizen and even a GC alone will not suffice.
SpaceX rockets are like Tesla cars. Tesla cars put lots of ordinary batteries together to power the car. SpaceX put lots of ordinary rocket engines together to power the rocket. The key idea is that the technology making those batteries/engines are so mature that you can put lots of them together without significantly lower the reliability of the system. You can only do some simple tasks with this approach.

He said he was inspired by the mission, so I’m trying to suggest, SpaceX won’t be even close to finish that mission. Apollo project costed 2.5% GDP of US every year in 1960s. SpaceX needs to get 1 trillion dollars new investment every year to take over “the mission”.
My wife and I are both on green cards and we both work for SpaceX. So yes GC alone is sufficient.

nope, no ITAR restrictions, work life balance is pretty decent .. I do work on weekends on & off but that's just me and I love the work .. but manager's real nice and team's awesome , and you learn a lot and work with the best. TC is pretty good especially if you have the right leverage to negotiate. I was in FANG and they still beat my compensation in both base pay & yearly stock grant.
Does i140 work?
I don’t think you can. They have clearly stated on their job portals only citizens or gc holders due to the nature of the industry. It’s similar for blue origin as well.
