Was testing Mercedes 2022 CLA250 4Matic at two different dealers recently. But every new CLA250 I test drove (about 4 of them) has sudden jerks when you trying to give it gas. Both dealership mentioned that it is because there is a fuzzy learning program and new cars need break in for the program to identify your driving habbit, and they will get better after a few hundred of miles drive. Any mercedes drivers? can you confirm this? or is this specific model defective? (I really like the simplistic interior this model has, the exterior shape is also nice. also my garage door size limited my shopping choices to compact/small cars) Thanks!
don't buy a CLA. many better options, new and used, in that price range. I would also venture to say the dealers are BSing you.
I like the compact look and interior a lot. also my garage door can only fit a small car
Yeah EVs don't have this problem. Get a Tesla.
I don't like teslas for real. also don‘t like what elon musk is doing these days
Ev’s don’t have a torque so you feel instant acceleration which imo kinda sounds like an uncomfortable drive
Why buy an entry level luxury? You're just paying for the brand at that point. Either get at least a real Merc or just get another brand that is fully loaded.
Can confirm dealers are not bs'ing you. You need few 10s of miles before car tunes itself to your driving habits.
Buy a loaded Camry. Or genesis. Or Lexus IS
CLA is the absolute worst Mercedes to buy. Atleast get a C class or GLC. Otherwise, buy a loaded civic or Mazda 3 and call it a day.
why?
It is a fwd car with sub-par interiors and driving dynamics. Never buy the cheapest luxury car. Buy a loaded economy car and it will have more features than the entry level luxury. Test drive a top trim Mazda 3 or Civic Touring and compare.
I got a220 and I do enjoy it. To confirm, there is a jerk at times when pressing the gas. That’s bullshit, there no learning program lol
yeah it is almost scary. I spent longer time testing it today, about 40 min down the road and the jerkish accelaration happens like 4 or 5 times. (The main attraction for me is really the nice exterior and interior, looks very neat and minimalistic)
Idk why it does that, I read it’s by design. Almost no jerking in sport mode though. I notice it happens less if I slowly accelerate, but if I floor it, it jerks. I was really sold on the interior and design. The ambient lighting is awesome too, makes night time driving fun.
CLA is trash. What's your TC? You can afford C300.
Test drove a c300 today not impressed by the look or drive. Also they are the same price.

Any Indians Think Kashmir Should be Independent?
If it’s turbo charged engine and the drive mode is in sport, the turbo/gear ratio can make it feel like “launch”
it was comfort mode.
I tried all 3 modes, comfort, eco, sport. all feel the same.
