According to Blind reviews: Google: Great WLB/Good Pay/Slow Career Growth Facebook: Bad WLB/Great Pay/Fast Career Growth Amazon: Hell WLB/Good Pay/Ok Career Growth Microsoft: Great WLB/Bad Pay/Slow Career Growth Is there any company that actually has good wlb/pay/career growth? Or this is like CAP theorem?
Netflix, apple, twitter, linkedin, salesforce, splunk, slack, dropbox?
Either bad WLB or bad career growth according to Blind reviews.
Salesforce is good WLB but slow career growth unless you like playing politics.
What if I told you it's team / org dependent, and contrary to what Blind says, there are teams with great WLB at FB and Amazon and teams with shitty WLB at Google and MS (especially some teams at gcp and Azure), and that generalizing over thousands of teams in a megacorp makes no sense whatsoever? Shocker, I know.
Of course but on average it’s usually like blind review
OP, WLB is terrible in Azure. Just FYI.
Azure - Bad WLB, decent pay, fast growth if you are a top performer
Azure bad wlb is based on the Manager. If team sees a manager with no life and online 24/7 (not necessarily working), team tends to follow that habit out of fear. Few managers in Azure are bad
Apple ias decent WLB with above good pay
WLB is very team dependent, so that is why you should always pick the company that has the best pay and career growth that also encourages internal mobility (hint: it’s Facebook)
Uber: bad WLB/Good Pay/Fast Career
Msft is not that bad in terms of pay. It's just lower than FB. Compared to a lot of places it's not bad.
They are way lower than a lot of companies. You can go check levels.fyi. They are known to pay less.
Msft rsu refreshers are a joke/borderline insults.
