Been seeing a lot of demand for AWS consulting gigs at crazy rates. All asking for ‘AWS experts’ with certs and stuff, but surely the people who know the tech the best are the people who’ve worked at AWS right? Wondering if anyone who’s worked at AWS has ever quit and moved to only doing consulting work Seems like it would be a nice gig in terms of money and wlb. Thinking of interviewing with Amazon again solely for this...
Typically people worked inside know less. Netflix probably knows it best. And startups that have to optimize. Internal Amazon use AWS irresponsibly and expensively because it's free.
Just learned that one of our compliance tests that uses lots of ec2 instances has a monthly bill of 500 million
Long as you’re ok traveling a lot, go for it! Good market right now
Where are these AWS consulting gigs? I have hands on experience with a fintech company and my certs in Solutions Architect and Developer. I get plenty of $80/ hour contact jobs thrown my way, but I'm thinking these are low-ball, low end body shops.
Huh. This might be a great reason to work at AWS for a fee years.
Exactly what I’m thinking
Damn someone at FB saying a good thing about AWS! Crazy.
