I have a decade of experience in product management, and am struggling to apply to jobs and land interviews. I hate going through each companies' site, only to see that there are no positions available or they are not in my area or remote. A lot of top tier companies do not seem to put their jobs on job boards, so there doesn't seem to be a way to find them in one place. Any ideas? #pm #product #productmanager
You need to network with people in those companies. Start meeting with people informally. Use LinkedIn or go to meetups that feature those groups.
There are no meetups with product people from any company, where I live. But I suppose I can message people on LinkedIn. Never had much luck with that though.
It takes time. You don't need product people at the meetups. You need people from the company. Product Managers aren't going to hiring you unless they are Group Product Managers. You are looking for people who work on a Product that need Product Managers. Or people that can introduce you to people who work on product.
