Any thoughts on moving from FinTech to pure Tech companies (Amazon AWS/Facebook)

So, I'm a software engineer who started career in FinTech industry after graduation. Its been couple of years and I'm actually loving FinTech (probably because of the next Gen project am working on) so I feel like I wanna pursue further in fintech(#visa or #mastercard etc ) but, most of the recruiters are reaching out to me from Amazon / Facebook(Instagram)/ MS and not much from the FinTech companies. There is this thought in my mind that I'll have to start all over again. So, just curious if anybody had to take such call before and how did you feel after going to Amazon/ fb ? Or am I just overthinking ? πŸ˜ƒ #software #engineering #FinTech

Dooom is somewhat correct. If I see a fintech engineer with solid experience I don’t care what you’re niche is- if you want to switch it up and go pure tech I’m down to give you a shot. If you pass the bar for an L5 there is no β€œreset.” If you excel in the assessment and onsite why would we care what you were doing before? Hope that makes sense

Do you even realize that Amazon/FB recruiting is nothing like regular hiring? They are not inviting you to work for the company yet, the ask is to prepare for and take several exams.
