I'm planning to buy a property to rent out on Airbnb in San Jose downtown area, would like to hear from people who host or rent on the platform. What does it take to be successful in this business, which I assume is maintaining maintain 4.8+ ratings?

I’m a super host with one profitable property around 30 to 40% IRR. I’d be skeptical that you’re going to get a good returns in San Jose and I would be wary of regulatory risk on the West Coast in general.
