Anybody knows about Microsoft Fertility Benefits?

I received an offer from MSFT and when recruiter mentioned benefits, there was no mention of fertility benefit. I read online that they have this option. Does anyone knows details on the number of times of freezing/IVF they cover? Also how long after I start, I can use this benefit, and how long I should stay at the company, to get those with me if I leave? Also what other companies offer that, beyond onvious ones? Amazon, Uber, Lyft, Twitter, LinkedIn. It's an important factor in my decision.

What are the terms after you leave? Is there minimum stay for that?

I know someone that literally did this here at MSFT no less than a week ago. Pm me.

If it’s important to you, you should ask the recruiter. If you feel uncomfortable doing that, then ask for the detail pf all benefits. I always ask for that anyway, and they usually don’t see a problem sending it over.

Ask your recruiter

Yes msft has a fertility plan. You can ask your recruiter for details but I just read it and it covers IVF/freezing and all kinds of other stuff on a cycle basis (a cycle can be a combination of treatments like freezing/ivf). It covers up to 3 such cycles if the first two dont result in pregnancy. I assume the benefit would start when you do since the only stated requirement is that you or your spouse are on the premera health plan. I assume the benefit would end if you quit since you would jo longer be on that Insurance plan (unless you pay for cobra). MS partners with a company called progyny to offer the treatment the plan is just administered by premera.

If you’re going to work at Microsoft US, they have a pretty good fertility plan that was recently revamped to cover 2+1 IVFs with meds. If you’re one of those poor Microsoft Canada folks down the street, there is no program. Pretty sure it’s only Microsoft US that gets fertility benefits. It’s very unfair and I have no clue why Microsoft only has IVF coverage for US employees since IVF in Canada is the same cost as it is in the US (actually there are cheaper places in the US to get IVF then in Canada) but I guess it’s so the company can draw talent to HQ in the US. That’s just my guess.
