Is it worth leaving behind 75LPA in India for an offer of $185k in Bay Area?
It’s a shit show
Did you do the drive? If so, what was your commute time?
I did northridge to Venice. It was about 1-1.5 hrs depending on traffic. I took balboa down past the 101 to the 405. Sometimes the side streets but usually the 405 is faster.
PCH is more consistent than the 405/10. Unless it rains then all bets are off. If you come in later the drive isn't too bad, nights is much worse
Good to know. What’s your average commute time?
I don't live in WH but have co-workers who do the Water Gardens / WH commute. I will say I've had it take nearly an hour to go up Wilshire to get on the 405 during the evening. Thursdays are the worst Fridays are second.
I do it man... But I'm about to move to SM it's unbearable
Damn. What area in WH? How long do you spend each way?
Don't want to give away information that makes me less anonymous, but 30 minutes each way in the very best case up to an hour each way in the worst cases. It's not the time that bothers me it's the slow drivers that give me road rage
I did the WH>El segundo commute for years and Topanga PCH wasn't any better. The 405 was hell from Sherman oaks to the Getty. That's the major block when coming from the valley.
Ouch, that’s an extra 10mi. How long was your commute and what times did you leave?
If I left at any point after 7am it was a shit show all the way to LAX. MOST of it was the Sherman oaks - Getty segment which I'm referring to as you say you'd exit in Wilshire/Santa Monica. I'd be at work about 1:40 after 7am. 50m-1:10 before 7am.
