Was pinged by a recruiter and told him now is not a good time but we’ll reconnect in a month. After seeing all the negative comments and pip stories, a bit hesistant to reach out. Anyone in similar positon or even went through the interview and declined an offer because of negative pip stories on Blind?
Yes
That's the reason I never reply to amzn recruiters on linkedin
Yes, I stopped looking at internal transfers after all blind posts.
Yep. Never Amazon. Enough idiots still want to work for them though
I told them to their face, why do you think you can intimidate me during a job interview!
What did they do?
The bar raiser started saying that he knows top execs at a company i worked for earlier and pointed out to a conflict I had with them.
I interviewed with them as a practice. But I declined the offer, even though it was slightly higher than the other offer from msft. I declined it for same reason, ie because of all negative comments on blind
After talking to many friends in amazon, it seems amazon has a pattern where most of the equity portion gets materialized in later 3rd n 4th year and exactly that is when PIP probably jumped in many individual cases. So certainly it is a risky move unless you don’t care about WLB.
Thats fucked up
its not a pattern, its clearly stated in the offer letter that RSU vest 5% after 1 yr, 15% after 2 yr, 20% after every 6 month then till the last vest at the end of 4th year.
The email from Amazon recruiter directly goes into trash. Never bothered to reply them.
Kudos to all people that have a backbone and are not blindly following a high TC
Btw it is not even a high TC if you look at cliff period, priced-in stock growth, major vesting in later years, terribly low 401K matching that too after 3 years if you dodge PIPing.
With respect to 401K, I agree, adding long vesting period to 401K match is really bad idea for such a successful company. That match is not even high enough to add such restrictions.
Yes. I declined several recruiters reaching out in the last few years
