Anyone ever quit a company after 1-2 weeks because they received a better offer?

Received a 1-year contract offer for company A. Full remote, 150k, great brand recognition. Meanwhile, completed final round for a full time position at FAANG company B, the compensation would be around 250k however hybrid in a boring city/state. Company B keeps pushing back the timeline, stating they need more time to make a decision as they have other candidates they’re still interviewing. At the same time, I don’t want to lose the opportunity at Company A if Company B makes no offer. Company B was very transparent and told me I aced all of the interviews and they are very interested in me. What would you do? Who’s been in this situation?

You can always accept it then take the other offer.

Companies screw with us with layoffs, you are allowed to screw with them too.

That’s what I was thinking too, at will employment. Both of these companies completed layoffs this year.

Every job usually has a 90 day review period anyway. You can literally just say you don't think it is working out. You don't need to give them a better reason and you will have worked there for such a short time that you don't need to put it on your resume, nobody will care.

Be careful if you’re a contractor there might actually be a notice period or penalty if you terminate the contract early.

You do you. Companies will fire you as they please. Loyalty isn’t paying bills.

Definitely. They will blacklist the person though which really does not mean much of you have no future interest in the company 😆

Just work them both until your contract is terminated or complete.
