I actually work for Mirantis, the company nobody has heard off that acquired the only revenue generating part of Docker (and then immediately laid off 100 people which somehow didnt make any news). We were all just told that to prevent layoffs (ha!) we all get a 20% pay cut. Seems a little early.
That’s a shitty things to say right now... let’s hope you or your family/friends don’t go through any hardship..
OP, we are in a similar situation. Our bonuses were reduced and our stock has dropped by about 50% from it's peak. I estimate my TC also dropped by 20% compared to last year.
The 20% cut ✂️ is horrible. did the execs forgo bonuses, stock vesting, anything? After the Dec layoffs it's hard to have any faith in the leadership.
Sad to hear. If a company has to go through layoffs, the best think it can do is execute on it as early as possible and go with pay cuts if it's enough. Doing it early will mean less people will be affected by the end
