I have my first technical screen with Discord in a few days. I know it’s gonna be about building a chat server, but does anyone know what type of follow up questions they ask? Also what the on-site coding rounds and system design look like? Any insight would be appreciated 😭 TC 130
Are they still asking for an unpaid take-home project?
Yes.
Hey do you mind sharing some insights on what kind of follow up they asked and did you pass the interview? Thank you so much

I have but the screen wasn’t about building a chat server. There’s another question that you can find by searching that they used. On-site was a system design round about building a game lobby, a pair bug fixing problem, an SRE-like problem, and a couple of laid back culture rounds. Not a bad experience but stupid long, and most of the questions were clearly for product engineers even though I was not interviewing for a product-side job.
Thank you for a elaborate response! Was it the swear word filtering one?
can you elaborate on the sre-like problem? iirc this is a troubleshooting interview where they ask you root cause an incident
