I'm a software engineer for 15 years and thinking to quit my decently paying job (TC: approx. 400K) in a few months to explore a couple product ideas. I'm planning to do a hackathon style effort to validate couple product ideas ground up. One is a potential SAAS play and another is a potential consumer FinTech play. I'm also open to hear, learn new ideas and explore. I don't believe in the mantra of "move fast, break things" instead I believe in building software the way it should be without cutting too many corners and I would love to build a true engineering driven culture ground up. I am looking for someone that has a strong frontend engineering experience to help with prototyping with a humble personality and willingness to learn and grow together. please DM me if interested with a brief note sharing your experience and location. We can arrange a call soon after. As a disclaimer, there is no pay I can unfortunately offer at this time nor I am vying to raise funding, this will be a pure equity offering with a founding title. I will play the role of a BE/DE engineer + designer + product manager and looking for someone that can help with rapid prototyping and we can discuss and align on an equity structure. #startup #equity
do you have some product ideas in mind? if so, have you validated they are real problems that potential customers face?
my post I think is pretty clear that I do have couple ideas, honestly many of us do. What I want to do is actually validate these ideas with customer interviews and testing with rapid prototyping, before going all in and invest more time into this.
do you think maybe building a prototype in Figma might be faster? I think even doing a small React/Node app will take longer IMO
What you are looking for here is something close to an equal co-founder partnership, you should clearly state that (“founding title” is too vague). You are bringing as much as what you are asking. +1 on not moving fast and breaking things, take the time to build something few people love, and figure out from there how big is the market.
I've thought about it and not everyone may or may not be interested in playing a true co-founder role, there is a lot more to co-founding beyond coding and depends on what the other person is willing to spare and offer. So, left the ask to a founding title, but I am comfortable with a true co-founder prospect
Where are you located?
By Frontend web experience, do you mean design? Or more like eng.? Or both?
Frontend engineering, which involves translating design specs (created by me) to interactive web pages with mock data.
Why would anyone implement your vision for free?
