Anyone working two tech jobs? Any negative side effects
I've done a 3 month overlap before. It was a big risk for doing both because they had stipulations in the contracts about having multiple jobs. I was also afraid it would come up in future background checks or hirings so I cut one off. I don't want a short term gain to turn my resume to toxic waste
Ohh okay I’ll have to look over my contracts and see if they say anything. However if it does show up on a background check is that bad? Especially if there’s no contract that says you can’t have 2 jobs
That’s the point. You’re not at the second job to excel and climb the ranks. You’re there to do the bare minimum while stacking the paycheck. Think about how many of your colleagues do that just working 1 job. It doesn’t take much to get by in corp America.
I did 3 for a while, finally got sick from exhaustion. Not worth it. Then I gradually went back to just 1 at a time. Don't kill yourself.
I have a day job and then I do some freelancing for a consulting firm on the side. The pay per hour is good, but total number of hours is intermittent. Made sure to clear it with the legal department of my day job first.
yea, the negative side effect is that you feel you need two tech jobs...just got a new job that has a better TC. You're going to put yourself in an early grave, mentally, physically and socially.
Speak for yourself, I legit do 5 hours of real work a week. Ofc if it ever came down to it, I’d get laid off first, but holding many jobs is only problematic because of meetings or the rare on-call incident overlap.
Just got an offer on a fourth job, super excited
How do you survive doing three jobs?
he probably pays a guy in china 10k/year to do his each one of his jobs and pockets everything else. Shadow contracting company.
