App Store Holiday Rankings
Really interesting to see how App Store rankings change over the holiday. Fitbit #1, Alexa #4, lots of VR apps and games moved up, all the major social networks still in the top *except* Pinterest which crashed to #64 (wtf?). Uber down at #77 (expected since no one working just hanging at home). Big takeaway: Fitbit and Alexa look like big holiday winners. WTF Pinterest - don't people use this app to come up with holiday inspirations and things like that?
Pinterest probably gets the bump in the time running up to the Holidays - not during. And it's likely more of a steady tick rather than trending up and down like games and such.
Gift giving season. Amazon stocks are gonna pop. Fitbit meh. Home automation is a much bigger space than any of us initially predicted.
People look for inspiration months before the holiday. Makes sense.
Rankings based on what? Installs or usage?
The app store tracks usage?
It's installs but afaik it also tracks usage (but only the app devs see that)
