It doesnt ask you if you will allow "Tracking" by Apple. In some cases, there's not even an option to opt-out - only continue to learn more. Gonna love to see how this plays out. I'm all for giving consumers a choice. But you should be consistent.
Stop complaining Facebook.
sure, once you get reamed in court ala Epic
Hahahahahaha you wish
Fuck Apple
Do you think anyone will expect Fb employee to have an objective opinion on that?
I do
What exactly is the hypocrisy here? Doesn’t apple only require other apps to prompt for tracking if it’s sharing that data with 3rd party? From my understanding Apple doesn’t require a prompt for opt-in/out if it’s only 1st party. I’m not involved in that area at all so I only know from what I’ve read publicly. If that is the case, Apple is providing more user transparency for its own apps than it requires of app developers.

What about it? Are you saying it’s hypocrisy that apple is putting itself to higher standards than it asks app developers to do?
Ads where? How many apple apps even have ads? Something tells me this is far more mundane than the level of info facebook tracks. You work for a massive surveillance company that sells user info for advertising and promotes articles based on clicks despite knowing it spread misinformation. Get over it. This isn’t even pot calling the kettle black.
Almost all of them have ads. The fact that you think fb sells user info to advertisers is all I need to know
OP, can you tell me what Apple apps serve ads? I work in Ads team at Apple. So I know where we serve ads and what you are saying is BS.
Holy shit, people really understand whatever they want, you will get ads anyways but about diapers and retirement homes if you don’t have any kind of personalization, at least Apple says your targeted ads are produced without tracking which is a huge improvement (although I expect lower targeting quality compared to tracking-based services).
How do I disable this?
go to settings and turn off personalized ads. They don't make this easy unlike prompts for other advertisers and app developers. "You can disable Personalized Ads on your iOS or iPadOS device by going to Settings > Privacy > Apple Advertising and tapping to turn off Personalized Ads. On Mac, go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy, select Apple Advertising, and deselect Personalized Ads." On by default too.
