1) Health Insurance - Do you pay anything per paycheck for you and your dependents? or 100% premium paid by the company? 2) Do you get any wellness incentives deposited into your HSA account? 3) For 401k company matches only x% up to 6% of your base pay depends on the yoe at the company. Can I contribute more without companies match to maximize the IRS limit #tech #Apple #benefits

1) there are a couple plans, and yes there's a premium. I pay ~25 every two weeks for a HDHP with HSA. Deductible is 1200 annually for individual. Not sure what family plans are like. 2) not sure what a wellness incentive is but Apple will match a certain amount of contributions. 3) yes, Apple allows for MBDR/mega backdoor roth. There's an internal slack channel with an unofficial Apple-specific guide.
Thank you for your response. At QCOM, we too have high deductible plans. But to compensate that high deductible. Qualcomm deposit $750 as a wellness incentive(for that we go annual wellness checkup) and $500 HSA contribution. Which is almost close to the deductible amount. So wondering if Apple also provide any contribution to the HSA account in any way
Ahh, got it. Apple does the same. Can't recall if it's a match or if it's a flat amount yearly. I believe it's $750 for individuals. There's a non HDHP plan as well.
1. Yes it's not cheap 2. Yes 3. Not sure, but I guess you could?
1. I pay a monthly premium 2. I don’t use HSA so not sure about it 3. You can contribute upto IRS limit. Company match doesn’t count towards the IRS limit 3.1 Apple also offers in-plan Roth conversion for after-tax contributions but with a painful process.
Why not use HSA and just let it grow in index funds? Tax-advantaged account for your retirement/general healthcare costs
If you’re from CA I don’t think they recognize HSA. You still have to pay state income tax for your contribution.
