Every human being in the bay and the media just slap this idea around because it's just so easy to do so when someone as visionary as Jobs disappears. Tim Cook is always saying "we've got some great new products in the works" but we just haven't seen it. More diversification of products is not innovation to me. Thoughts?
yes
Who is the one person driving and standing behind our products? You can't give have 10 people owning 1 product. That's what Google does.
I know a number of forty somethings that would have left iOS phones behind if a larger format phone hadn't been produced. I heard it said that Jobs was opposed to larger phones. If that's true, his leadership of candybar phones would have lost ground.. I.e. maybe it wasn't so tragic a loss to the company?
More information on work life balance please
I hear mixed feedback on this but generally work life balance is not good there. They used to pay more for this but now other companies caught up with them in RSU compensation.
Work life depends on the group. But generally is not something Apple excels at. I'm in advanced development in engineering and it's great but Ops and other more firefighting prone engineering groups are not good.
Steve was really good at saying "no" and focusing.
he had vision. you can't instill that into a replacement.
Yes - but stealing others ideas is alive and well.
Mixed feelings here. Many Apple Employees of today was not here during the Jobs era, so I doubt they can comment here. I can tell you that personally, the flare isn't like what it used to be.
