I interviewed for a firmware role at Apple(Cupertino). My recruiter came back to me saying he doesnt have full feedback yet but is positive from what he knows. He said the ICT level has not been decided. I have never worked in the Bay area and need help giving my recruiter an expectation on TC. It would be a great help if you could put me in the right ball park for TC - Base+RSU+Sign-On. YOE: 6.5 Thanks in advance.#offer #apple #firmware
Hey would you guys be open to sharing the resources that you use for your preparation? There are hardly any firmware/embedded folks on here so it would be nice to know how people are preparing for such interviews. I can DM you if you prefer that.
Amen to that

Curious to hear what people have to say. How was the interview process? Are Apple FW interviews actually embedded-appropriate or is it closer to a generic software position?
@fmwt I had two phone screens - one with a staff engineer and another with the hiring manager. Both rounds had coding involved. One had questions in Linked List and other was about an encoding scheme. There were some embedded domain related questions and also on experience. Virtual onsite comprised of 8 rounds - 4 with firmware engineers, 1 with a HW engineer, 1 with a SQA manager, 1 with an EPM, 1 with Senior Firmware Manager. Of the 8, 4 rounds involved some coding, nothing too hard - just arrays, strings, Bit manipulations and DMA with thread safety. Overall it was a well-executed firmware interview. Coding was tested but was focused on firmware domain. Firmware domain specific questions involved I2C, SPI, Mutexes, Semaphores, RTOS basics, Context switching, Interrupts, system architecture.
Thanks for such a detailed response! Sounds like a great interview.
