So I figure, let's say if I use Apple Music for the rest of my life Even if I assume 70 more years, at $10.99 per month, which is the lying version of $11, is 11 * 12 * 70 => 9240 So, how does it compare to if I buy a CD at $15 once per month, which, I don't think will qualify me as an "over spender": 15 * 12 * 70 => 12600 So it actually is $3000 cheaper... well, and talk about listening to 100 million songs, and never have to deal with 300 CD boxes, dust them off, find them, find an empty box and where did the CD go? When I move to a new place, I do not even have to move a single electron, since I am moving my iPhone and computer to the new place anyway. Sounds logical? P.S. I thought of some more reasons: you get Hi Res lossless, and Dolby Atmos. When, you don't have to re-purchase your CDs all over again, it they are available with lossless at all. The math works out, but for certain genres of music YouTube Premium is better due to the availability of music and the severe lack of geolocking, which has plagued me for years when using Spotify Premium. It’s better to support dubplate or buy directly from the artist if you can due to how Spotify and Apple Music pay their artists, but that’s not always possible. TC: 105K
eh, your logic is bad because you are assuming that you will listen to a new cd every month. the vast majority of music I listen to is the same playlists. i could honestly switch to pirating but its just easier to be subscribed.
you also can listen to the music on YouTube, when in the past, they were afraid you'd just get it on the Net, and nowadays, they are afraid you don't listen to it on YouTube. Nowadays, it is more like paying for the convenience.
Funny you think it will be $10.99 for 70 years. Gallon of milk was $1 50 years ago. It’s more than triple now.
well, but I guess prices just go up accordingly. For example, when it goes up, my wages also goes up, and so is the CD, and so is my rent or lunch. A base salary for senior software engineer 30 years ago was $58k. Today it is like $180k.
